  • Thomas Man settled in this area in 1783 and the next generation of his family changed their surname to Mann.
  • Thomas Hutchinson's New Brunswick Directory for 1865 shows the place as Mount Edward, possibly named for Edward Mann, another settler here.
  • From 1915 to 1933 the post office was called Manns Mountain. Mann Mountain has an elevation of 1,150 feet (350 metres).
