Description From Owner:
  • Named for Louis-Alexandre Des Friches de Meneval, governor of Acadia from 1687 to 1690. He was in command of Port Royal during its 1690 capture by Sir William Phips (1651-1695).
  • Menneval was taken prisoner to Boston and did not return. He was succeeded as governor by Joseph Robinau Villbon (1655-1700).
