The place was named for Thomas Millidge (1776-1838) merchant, magistrate and MLA and Thomas Edward Millidge (1814 -1894), a shipbuilder there for 33 years.
The Brothers: Three islands in the Kennebecasis R. that resemble each other. Maliseet Indians called one of them Moeeaneecook, 'bear island.'
