Description From Owner:
- At 2,690 feet, (817 metres), Mount Carleton is the highest point in the Maritime provinces. Its name honours Thomas Carleton (1736-1817), first lieutenant-governor of New Brunswick.
- In 1969, 17,000 hectares (42,000 acres) surrounding Mount Carleton were set aside for a provincial wilderness park, Mount Carleton Provincial Park.
- Trails covering 62 km lead through old forests, woodland meadows, past waterfalls and finally to spectacular vistas from the mountaintop. There are groomed trails for cross country skiing in winter.
