Description From Owner:
- The Maliseet called the river Neleepeechk, whose meaning is unknown. On a 1686 map it is shown as Nerepisse and in 1758 as Nirapis.
- The post office opened here in 1885 as Nerepis Station; the Station was later dropped. In 1898 Nerepis was a flag station on the CPR and had a post office, one store a sawmill and a population of 100.
