Description From Owner:
- The Micmac called the river Manoosak, 'island at the outlet.' The river and community are named for Peter Paulet, a Micmac medicine man who lived near the mouth of the river and died here around 1800.
- Land petitions in 1791 refer to the place as Polet River and Paulets River. Before the post office came in 1852 and made the name Pollett River official, the place had also been called Forest Glen.
