Description From Owner:
- The place was first settled in the 1830s and known as Baillieville for Thomas Baillie (1796-1863) who was NB Surveyor General at that time.
- The community was abandoned for a time and then resettled under the Free Grants Act around 1875. The post office opened a decade later as Red Rapids.
- Sandstone blocks from here were used in 1902 to build the Victoria County Registry Office and Courthouse at 1 135 West Riverside Drive in nearby Perth-Andover which is now a Provincial historical site.
