Description From Owner:
- The post office opened in 1885 as St. Castin. In 1893 the name was changed to St Edward-de-Kent. A 12-km-long sand dune descending from Saint Edouard-de-Kent protects Bouctouche Bay.
- The dune is now the Irving Eco-Centre which protects the habitat of a wide variety of marine and aquatic plants, animals and migratory birds along a 12-km sand dune, part of which may be viewed from a 2-km-long boardwalk at 1932 Route 475.
