  • Southampton Parish was established in 1833 and was likely named as a complement to Northampton Parish, York County's most northerly parish, established in 1786.
  • Birthplace of Charles Dow Richards (1879-1956), premier from 1931-33. He was Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New Brunswick 1948-55.
