New Brunswick Tourism Region : Mirimichi River Valley
Description From Owner:
- The place was settled in 1830 and in 1853 when the post office opened was called Upper Bay du Vin because of its proximity to the Bay du Vin R. which flows N to the community of Bay du Vin on Miramichi Bay.
- In 1938 the place name changed to St. Margarets after the church here.
- RCAF Station St. Margarets opened here in 1954 and its post office became James Park, named for Air Vice Marshal Arthur Lorne James (1903-1964), who was in command from 1954-1955.
