Description From Owner:
- The community takes its name from Upham Parish established in 1835 and named for Joshua Upham (1741-1808), a Loyalist and major in the King's American Dragoons and aide-de-camp to Sir Guy Carleton.
- Upham was a graduate of Harvard College and in 1784 was named a judge of the Supreme Court and a member of the legislative council. From 1848-1854 this community was called Shepody Road.
- From 1854 to about 1870 it was called Upham Vale and from 1898-1969 the post office was called Upham Station.
