New Brunswick Tourism Region : Fundy Shore
Description From Owner:
- The narrow Mistake Cove is 5 km long and could easily be mistaken for a channel in Long Reach. That's what happened in 1763 when Capt. Edward McCoy from Connecticut, a grantee in this area, made that mistake.
- For a time the cove was called Coy's Mistake or McCoy's Mistake. The narrow, marshy terrain separating Mistake Cove from Long Reach is called Mistake Intervale.
- Mistake Point is between Mistake Cove and Long Reach. It earlier had been called Point aux Herbes.
