Wickham Parish was established in 1786. William Spry who had extensive holdings on the St. John R. in that area was from Wickham in Hampshire, England.
Wickham was the name under which the post office opened in 1847.
The province operates a free ferry service from May to November between Wickham on Route 705 and Hampstead on Route 102.
