  • The parish of Drummond was established in 1872 and the community takes its name from the parish.
  • The name is believed to honour Sir Gordon Drummond (1772-1854), British commander on the Niagara Frontier during the War of 1812 and later administrator of Canada 1815-1816.
  • Drummond is the birthplace (1941) of Ron Turcotte, Triple Crown jockey who rode the famous horse Secretariat from 1970 to 1989.
