Description From Owner:
- The name is a translation from the French, Anguille, for eel. Eel River Crossing was incorporated as a village in 1966.
- Where the Eel R. empties into Chaleur Bay, 5 km SE of Dalhousie, the Eel River sandbar allows fresh water swimming on one side and salt water swimming in Chaleur Bay on the other.
