Description From Owner:
- Norton Parish was established in 1795 and is believed to have been named by George Leonard for Norton near Taunton in Massachusetts.
- When the post office opened here in 1852 the place was called Finger Board because it was the intersection of the roads from Fredericton and Moncton.
- In 1885 the name changed to Norton Station, and briefly to Raymond for postmaster John Raymond.
