- Pointe-Verte is French for Green Point which was the place name when the post office opened in 1885. In 1938 the name was changed to its French equivalent.
- Atlas Park on the edge of an old quarry, offers a small lake carved from rock that has exceptionally clear water and is 33 metres (108 feet) deep. The lake is popular with divers year-round.
