- The community started around 1867 under the Free Grants Act and the post office has carried the name Saint-Isidore, patron saint of farmers, since it opened in 1875.
- Exhibits at Saint-Isidore Museum, 3942 Des Fondateurs Blvd. depict the agricultural and forestry background of the region. Mineral Springs Park at 25 de Rue de l'Arena has an arboretum and 2.5 km of nature trails.
