Description From Owner:

Named for the Tracy family which moved here from Maine in the late 1700s led by Jeremiah Tracy (1744-1812).
His son Jeremiah Tracy Jr. built a mill here and his son, Jeremiah 'Boss' Tracy was a well-known lumberman in the area.
The post office opened here in 1855 as Tracey Station with H. E. Tracey as the first postmaster. The name was changed to Tracy in 1926.
